The Teardrop Bass VBW-2000 has a carved maple top and veneer with a hollowed mahogany back and sides with flame maple binding. ![]() This guitar is a very nicely done re-issue of the iconic 1960s Vox Phantom Mark III. While the Phantom I guitar was equipped with a three position rotary pickup selector, the Phantom II featured three on/off slide switches, one for each pickup. Up for sale is a super cool 2000 Vox Mark III Custom Teardrop White. On the Vox UK website, it shows the typical description and specs of the guitars, including the pics. single coil pickups with 'bar type' magnets and chrome covers. The guitar (shown below) is also made with six inline Kluson style tuners, a chrome pickguard and two single coil, Alnico magnet pickups. Like most of the other models in the 1962 Vox range, the Phantom I and Phantom II guitars were equipped with Vox V.1.
