Everything about the choice of ingredients and the preparation was perfect. Totally delicious, and as Thai cooking can be, each bite can be a delight and a surprise. Our other entree was Pad Thai, a rather classical dish which they prepared in a savory way, and I'm inclined to say it might well be among the best I've ever had anywhere, including Thailand. We greatly appreciated the great taste and flavor of the marinated and slow-cooked baby backs, minus the American axle grease. For entrees, we chose the Lemongrass Pepper Ribs, a refreshing new take on a generically well-known dish. A great start to what would be a fine meal to follow. For starter, we ordered the mixed platter-four appetizers, each one unique and distinct. So we used this opportunity to educate ourselves on some of the delicious foods of Indonesia. We know Thai very well, but we're not so well informed of the subtleties in the Indonesian style. And the foods that came out of their kitchen were perfectly flavored and in keeping with the various styles of Asian they offer. Our host/server made us feel welcome from moment one. The dining room itself is small, intimate, colorful, and thoroughly delightful. Everything about Pandan pleased us very much. Our appetite was jump-started even before we got to our table. What a delight it was! From the moment we walked through the door, the unmistakeable aroma of Asian cooking permeated the air. This past weekend we targeted Hackettstown, NJ, and Pandan was our latest detour. Lately we've been breaking up our two-hour commute by dining at different restaurants along the way. We live in the City during the week, and visit our country home in the Poconos just about every weekend.
